“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” C.S. Lewis
Life can be filled with regrets. We make choices each day and some of those choices end up hurting us. We feel defeated and question who we are and what we are doing in life. That is a tactic of the enemy to get us to think we have no value.
- We lost a job.
- Our heart was broken.
- We contracted a life-threatening disease.
- We said something we wish we could take back.
Whatever it is, something has happened to make us think game over. But I like was C.S. Lewis says here, that we cannot change what has happened, but we can change the ending. Maybe we regret things as they have played out, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. Our response doesn’t have to follow our circumstances.
Think about it. We were born into a sinful nature and that is something we cannot change. However, we can start where we are and ask Jesus into our lives. We can give our circumstances to him and know that he cares for us. That definitely changes the ending. When we come to Jesus, it has eternal significance. He has already defeated the enemy.
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7
