Let me say from the get-go that God’s Word and a relationship with Him is more precious to me than anything. It is the filter through which I try to live each and every day of my life. Some days I do well and other days I am disappointed my choices/actions. I am also blessed to have a wife who values a relationship with God and His Word. I am blessed to be part of a church that teaches the truth from God’s Word. I can’t say that living as a Christian in this world is easy because it is NOT. I am not afraid to let people know that I am a believer. As a result, there are many days that people make fun of me or make wisecracks about God to my face. God gives me a great deal of patience with these people. The world has an agenda for me that is opposite of the life God desires, but I am not of the world and because of it, the world hates me. It’s mission: to steal, kill and destroy.
“I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.” John 17:14-15
“Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalm 25:5“You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.” Psalm 119:114“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10“‘They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 1:19
