On November 30th, Oswald Chambers devotion for the day in My Utmost For His Highest began with something I had not thought about before.  “The way we continually talk about our own inabilities is an insult to our Creator.  To complain over our incompetence is to accuse God falsely of having overlooked us.”

“…by the grace of God I am what I am…”  1 Corinthians 10a

So, who am I?  You’ve heard the old saying, “God doesn’t make junk.”  It is true.  All of God’s creative work was and is done with purpose.  He created the universe and all that is in it, He said that it was good.  However, when he created man it was very good.  Listen to the words from Genesis chapter one:

“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.  God blessed them…God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.  And there was evening, and there was morning – the sixth day.”  Genesis 1:26-28a, 31

Psalm 139 says that God knit us together in our mother’s womb.  Wow!  God knows me so well and created me with purpose.  I am no accident and I am necessary.  Regardless of where you are in life, please realize that you have a purpose and that your Creator, after finishing His handiwork said, “You are very good.”
