When we wake up each morning, a day filled with challenges is not what most of us envision. We get ready for the day, travel to where that day will begin, live out that day and then come home to end the day. From the moment we begin, we find challenges. Maybe it’s trying to get our hair to cooperate or we find out all our clothes need to be washed. Perhaps we meet frustration as we face the challenge of other drivers on the road who seem to cut us off at the most inopportune times. Then we get to work and nothing goes as planned. So home we head, frustrated which presents its own challenges in family relationships. We get into bed, hoping for a better day tomorrow.
Sound familiar? It seems that a majority of people live their lives this way day-to-day; continuing the pattern that leads to the same outcome each day. In James 1:2-4 we read, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Hmmm…challenges maybe aren’t such a bad thing after all. Challenges are opportunities to test our maturity. The more we are challenged, the more we learn to endure all things.
So…tomorrow when you wake up, greet the day’s challenges with great joy. Each and every day, God is using those challenges to make us fully complete, lacking nothing. Be a challenge buster!
